A lot has been said about Egyptian cotton and the truth is that this type of cotton is stronger and far more durable than other types of cotton, while a towel made from this cotton will cost you a bit more, you will get far more towel for the money you spend.

Cotton velour is also nice for monogrammed beach towels; while not as thick it is incredibly soft and gentle on the skin, something that can be very nice after a day out in the sun. The only problem with velour is that it takes longer to dry, so once you get the towel wet it will not be very comfortable to sit on or wrap up in.
